profilebak files, storing player character data. 'AberrationSavedArksLocal' or 'RagnarokSavedArksLocal'). If on one of the DLC maps, look for a similar folder but with the map name in the title (eg. If you are playing on the Island map, or a mod map from the Workshop, look for a folder named 'SavedArksLocal'. That is where single player saves are stored. Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved Get the creatures in question and upload them to the obelisk, then switch back to your current game and download them into that save instead. The game makes regular backups of your saves.you might be able to backup your current progress, then load in one of the old backups before you uploaded the dinos. There may be an alternate way to retrieve the dinos though. This happens even if you do not access the obelisk and look at the items - just having them in there and joining the server is enough. Originally posted by □ Hermit:Yes, if you have modded items in your upload and log into a server which doesn't have the mod installed, I'm afraid it corrupts the data and makes it inaccessible. Deleting that file will also clear all your map explorations, so you'll have to uncover the maps again, and also remove skin unlocks you have achieved, however the loss of those will only be temporary and they will start appearing again over time as your game resyncs with Steam. You do that by deleting the file 'PlayerLocalData.arkprofile' at the location D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\LocalProfiles. ![]() I'm afraid there is no way to retrieve them from the obelisk, all you can do is clear the obelisk data to free up those six slots. Now there is a full blown paid expansion.Yes, if you have modded items in your upload and log into a server which doesn't have the mod installed, I'm afraid it corrupts the data and makes it inaccessible. I remember people begging on the forums last year to stop releasing content and fix the game first! It never happened. ![]() Collision, glitching, lag, rubberbanding, useless follow mode if there is a rock in the way. Adding content to an almost unplayable game is not how things should be done. I really wanted to get Scorched Earth if they had fixed their broken game, but turns out they haven't done anything to make the game better. Giving these people more money is a huge mistake. It has been for sale a while now, and now HAS A PAID DLC EXPANSION. There are only so many times people can take up for these developers and claim "optimizations and bug fixes" are on the way. I was helping with a drake and a giga, but nothing could draw the attention of the carno to leave the t-rex alone. He was spinning, hitting shift, space bar, all the buttons trying to get unstuck. Since the developers have no idea what they're doing, the carno was fully imbedded inside the t-rex as it slowly killed our proudly tamed, alpha t-rex and my brother that was riding it. Fine, if you see the fight isn't going your way, run away, right? Not in this diaherra of a video game. We finally tamed an alpha t-rex on an unofficial server yesterday. So unless the dino you're using can straight up kill the dino you're attacking without tactics of hit and runs, you and your dino are going to die because you're stuck inside the other dino and can't get away. My biggest complaint is collision, either the AI or me controlling one of the dinos to attack another, often leads to being stuck inside the other dino. Just started playing the game with my brother once again a couple weeks ago and notice all the same glitchy mess of a game is still present and running wild. All of its problems were mostly forgivable back then. ![]() I purchased this game early access alpha about a year and a half ago.
